Karina Smirnoff postpones wedding to focus on 'Dancing' with J.R. Martinez

"I want to enjoy this and I want to enjoy the wedding and doing it together is just really hard," Karina Smirnoff said.

          Karina Smirnoff is pushing back her January 21 wedding date -- so why is she so ebullient? The "Dancing with the Stars" pro has a happy reason to postpone her big day with baseball player fiancé Brad Penny, and he goes by J.R. Martinez.
Actually, make that "frontrunner" J.R. Martinez, who sits happily atop the leader board after Monday's '80s-night competition.
"I got an amazing partner and we spend so much time at the studio because we have a great shot at [winning the mirror ball trophy]," Smirnoff, 33, said after the show Monday. "And we truly enjoy putting together these great routines."

So the wedding will wait. "There's absolutely no time," she said of all the work she and Martinez, 28, are putting into their dancing. "I want to enjoy this and I want to enjoy the wedding and doing it together is just really hard."
Plus, Penny, 33, who pitches for the Detroit Tigers, has just recently wrapped up his baseball season.
"Once [Dancing] is over, we're going to concentrate on the rest of the life," Karina says of resuming wedding planning.
And it sounds like she'll have all the help she needs. Says Martinez: "I want to be one of the bridesmaids."

Kevin Bacon 'furious' over having a dance double in 'Footloose'

"It's like a starting pitcher getting taken out of a game -- no one wants to be told they can't get the guy out," Kevin Bacon said.

           Kevin Bacon is not the kind of guy to look back at his past work. But when the studio unearthed his audition tape from 1984's original "Footloose," he couldn't help himself.
"It was like a weird time-travel, out-of-body type thing," Bacon, 53, told PEOPLE. "It's like if you went and saw the interview you did for your first job. Wow. I literally turned the thing off, went into the bathroom, looked myself in the mirror and went, 'Jesus, is that even the same guy?' "
So was he impressed with himself?
"Honestly, I was," says Bacon, who at the time he shot the movie was a relatively unknown off-Broadway actor, despite roles in "Animal House," "Friday the 13th" and "Diner." "The energy, the hunger, the determination ... it was cockiness really. I oozed it."

While Bacon is justifiably proud of himself and the film -- which went on to earn more than 10 times its reported $8 million budget -- he does have a few regrets. For one, while he says he did a majority of his own dancing, he wished he had been able to do some of the flips and complicated dance moves in the movie's famous warehouse scene. "Are you kidding? I was furious," Bacon says with a smile. "It's like a starting pitcher getting taken out of a game -- no one wants to be told they can't get the guy out."
On the day of the movie's famous warehouse shoot, "I had a stunt double, a dance double and two gymnastics doubles," recalls Bacon. "There were five of us in the f---ing outfit, and I felt horrible."
One thing that Bacon was unwilling to do was stay quiet about his dance double.
"When the movie came out, the studio told me to never mention that they used a double," he says. "While I was in no position to do this, I told them, ''You are out of your f---ing mind!' "
 

Madonna's older brother says he's homeless

Madonna's older brother says he's been on the street since losing a job at his father's vineyard.

One of Madonna's brothers has been homeless for a year and a half and currently lives under a bridge in Traverse City, Michigan, he says in a new interview. "My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time," Anthony Ciccone tells the Michigan Messenger, a citizen journalist site. "You think I haven't answered this kind of question a bazillion times -- why my sister is a multibazillionarie, and I'm homeless on the street?"
He adds: "Never say never. This could happen to anybody."
Ciccone, 55, says he's been on the street since losing a job at his father's vineyard and winery in Suttons Bay, Michigan. He also says he got frostbite on his feet last winter while sleeping outside in the bitter Michigan cold.
"You have no idea how gruesome it is," he says. "You get nerve damage. That's the milder stage. In the severe stage you have tissue damage, that is when you lose parts of your body ... A friend of mine lost all ten toes. Several have died of hypothermia."
Most of the story focuses on how Traverse City is better than most at caring for the homeless. "This is a unique system with the churches here," Ciccone says. "You won't find this in too many places."
Madonna, 53, has not commented on the story. In 2008, her younger brother Chris released a tell-all book called Life with My Sister Madonna.
