well here's the kicker for the fools who fall for these gimmicks.
you can donate directly and it's a tax write off as a charitable contribution.
or, you can buy the same boring lollipop, in 10 different colors, and see this 5% go towards the charity which apple will gladly pony up as it will benefit them after their returns and reports are done.
so i gotta ask, why bother justifying your purchase as "good will"?

Whoopidedoo, a whole $50 off. They HAD to do that because of the lack of actually updating anything worthy on the device. One could argue that it isn't enough of a price cut the way competitors music players are priced.
Anyone with half a brain will avoid these 5th G Part 2 devices like the plague, unless they want to waste money that could be spent 4 months later on a widescreen model.
Should we set up the thread now for the people that rush out and buy this version of the iPod then get burned just after Christmas when the real new iPod comes out? They'll need someplace to vent, and it's usually all over these threads. It would be nice to condense it.Agreed. Any thunderbolt -> USB3 adapters out there? be useful for people who have 2011 macbooks...
( I know there's USB3 -> Thunderbolt connectors.. )

Don't worry, with Thunderbolt you essentially get an endless amount of options of ports. FireWire, USB 1-3, eSata, etc. It's only a matter of time until these adapters enter the market.

Im with you dude...I see NO reason that apple couldnt pony up for a legitimate GPU. Especially since the 27iMac has alot of pixels to push...heck, the base GPU should have a GB of frame buffer at least. Ahhh, base 6850, 150.00 upgrade gets you a 6950 :D

Identity theft is not malware and it's not targeted at just Mac or Windows. It can be done without using computers at all. There is no antivirus software that can protect a computer from the user's own stupidity or gullibility.
If you said "not just" I might agree. But if you think keyboard capture code isn't being used for identity threat and/or want to lump anyone who has every run into such malware as "stupid" or "gullible" well my opinion of you just keeps dropping even lower. How is it different than using a Wacon Tablet?
There are a few nice features you get with a separate tablet. First, your hand doesn't interfere with your view of the screen. Second (and kind of related), you don't get fingerprints all over your screen. Third, there is no need to calibrate the pointer with the display (it's maddening when the cursor is a few pixels away from a stylus).

Far faster than using the mouse. Mac OS X is very good at providing keyboard shortcuts, far better than Windows, although that may have changed with Windows 7.
